Who we are
Ladyburn House is an exclusive-use country house at Kilkerran, Maybole, South Ayrshire, Scotland KA19 7SG. This website is run by Nenah Favelle, trading as Ladyburn House, which is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us at info@ladyburnhouse.co.uk or on +44 (0)7796 668822.
What information we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the type of stay you are interested in, your preferred dates, group size, anything you tell us about your plans, and any experiences you tick. If you message us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, we keep those messages. We also collect limited technical information about how the website is used, as described in our Cookie Policy.
How and why we use it
We use your enquiry details to reply to you, prepare availability and a proposal, and, if you go ahead, manage your booking. This is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract and to perform it. If you tick the box asking to hear from us, we will also send you occasional news about availability and retreat dates, based on your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We also keep records we are required to keep for accounting and legal reasons. When you send an enquiry we also record which page or campaign brought you to the form, so we can understand what works. This is held only for the length of your visit in your browser, and a copy is kept with your enquiry.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We use trusted providers to run the website and our business: our website host and platform (Manus), which stores enquiries sent through the form; Microsoft 365, which hosts our email; our email marketing provider, only if you opted in; our booking and guest-management software (Hospitable), if you make a booking; and, where needed for your stay, trusted private chefs, therapists and facilitators who need to know your dietary needs or group details. We may also share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers are based outside the UK; where that happens we rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy arrangements. If you accept non-essential cookies, Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (the Meta Pixel) may receive website usage and interaction information, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months. Booking and accounting records are kept for 6 years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@ladyburnhouse.co.uk.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Our Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies.
Instagram feed
Our homepage displays Instagram posts through LightWidget. The feed loads only after you accept non-essential cookies and scroll near it. Loading it connects your browser to LightWidget and Instagram (Meta), which may receive your IP address, browser and device information, and request or interaction information. These providers handle information under their own privacy policies: LightWidget Privacy Policy and Instagram Privacy Policy. You can withdraw consent using Cookie Preferences; this stops displaying the feed but does not undo information already sent to the providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
