Your Suggested Five-Night Golf Itinerary

Five nights, some of Scotland's most celebrated links courses, and one beautiful place to call home.

Arrive at Ladyburn House from 2:00 pm and settle into your nine en-suite bedrooms. There's no need to rush straight onto a golf course (unless you must!). This first afternoon is about arriving, unpacking the clubs and getting everyone together. Your golf equipment can be safely stored at the house. Spend time in the house and gardens, or ease into the trip in the Wellness Spa with the sauna, hot tub and ice baths. A massage in our treatment room can be booked in advance. Evening: a relaxed welcome supper, such as a grazing-style arrival supper or an informal private chef dinner, can be arranged to help everyone settle in and look ahead to the golf.

Start the day with breakfast at Ladyburn, which can be arranged in advance, before heading out for one of the most historic rounds in golf. Prestwick is the birthplace of The Open Championship, with the first championship played here in 1860. It is approximately 40 minutes from Ladyburn and makes a memorable introduction to traditional Ayrshire links golf. Transfers can be arranged in advance, so no one needs to worry about driving. Where tee times allow, you may also enjoy some time at the historic clubhouse. Evening: gather around our wood-fired pizza oven for handmade pizzas served sharing-style, followed by dessert, then head to the fire circle, the lounges or the Wellness Spa. Pizza evenings are chef-operated and booked in advance.

Deep grass-faced bunker beside a fairway at Prestwick Golf Club.

Royal Troon's Old Course is around 35 minutes from Ladyburn, one of Scotland's great Open Championship links and home to the famous Postage Stamp eighth hole. Caddies can be requested in advance, subject to availability. With transfers arranged around your confirmed tee time, you can concentrate on the golf and enjoy a relaxed return to Ladyburn. Evening: weather permitting, a relaxed BBQ-style evening at the house, with long tables, generous sharing food and an easy evening together. If the Scottish weather has other ideas, the evening can move indoors without losing the atmosphere.

Head north along the Ayrshire coast for a round at Western Gailes. Set between the sea and railway, it offers a traditional Scottish links experience with a different character from the Open venues. This can be a day for a slightly slower start where the tee time allows, perhaps with some time in the spa first. With the day's transfers arranged, there is no need to coordinate cars or navigate unfamiliar roads. Evening: a private chef dinner, kept deliberately easy, with good food, good conversation and no need to go anywhere.

Save one of the great experiences for the final full day. Turnberry is approximately 15 minutes from Ladyburn, our closest headline championship venue, so there is no long transfer at the end of the day. Play the Ailsa Course, an iconic Open Championship venue with dramatic coastal holes, views across the Firth of Clyde and the famous lighthouse, or choose the King Robert the Bruce Course for another memorable Turnberry round. Evening: finish around the table with a celebratory Scottish-inspired dinner created by private chefs, shaped around seasonal Scottish produce and your group's preferences, with a chance to replay the best shots and forgive the worst ones.

Turnberry links golf course with a lighthouse beside the coast

Enjoy a relaxed final morning together, with breakfast arranged in advance if you wish, before check-out at 12:00 noon. There's no need to rush off at dawn. Our team can help coordinate onward transfers to the airport, railway station or your next destination.

For groups wanting to make the most of their time in Ayrshire, an additional round can be incorporated. Dundonald Links is an excellent fifth-course option, offering a modern championship links experience and particularly useful for groups travelling north towards Glasgow afterwards. Alternatively, groups wanting more golf around Turnberry can add the King Robert the Bruce Course if it is not already in their itinerary.

This is only one way a five-night stay might unfold. Tee times determine the final order, and groups can build their stay around the courses they most want to play. Ladyburn can help with planning and coordination, including course information, transfers, dining and additional experiences. Between rounds, the house is yours: nine en-suite bedrooms, long dinners, fires lit, and the sauna, hot tub and ice baths. Leave your clubs safely stored between rounds and return to a beautifully maintained house with discreet housekeeping support. That is the difference between staying near the golf and having somewhere to come home to.

Breakfast and private chef dining, transfers, treatments and other experiences are arranged separately and quoted in your proposal. Tee times are subject to availability with each club.

GUEST FEEDBACK

Golf Stays, In Their Words

We came to Scotland for the links golf, but Ladyburn ended up being a huge part of the trip. Having the whole house to ourselves meant we could set our own pace, come and go as we pleased and properly relax after each round. Nenah, James and the team were brilliant hosts - nothing felt intrusive, but they were always there when we needed them. They pointed us towards some great walks and places to explore between tee times, and the food was exceptional. It felt like we were experiencing Scotland, not just playing golf in it.

FOR THE WHOLE GROUP

Golf for Some. Ayrshire for Everyone.

Not everyone needs to follow the same itinerary.

While some guests head out to the links, others can enjoy the sauna and hot tub, book a treatment, explore Culzean Castle and the Ayrshire coast, or simply relax at Ladyburn.

Then everyone comes back together in the evening for dinner and time around the fire.

Around an hour from Glasgow Airport. Airport and golf-course transfers can be arranged and quoted separately; they are not automatically included.
